Just 12 absentees meant I had a great entry to judge & as always I really enjoyed the task. I found some bites to be a bit loose even in adults, something to be aware of.
PD (8,1a) 1 Morgan’s Cyfelin Jack Frost at Ahlenagen, well balanced 11 month male, good all round except perhaps in shoulder angulation. Excellent head properties, good pigmentation, well up on nice tight feet, good neck & topline, excellent tailset, moved well & showed nicely; 2 Kimber’s Stonelight Sleight Of Hand, correct sized black, good expression, dark eyes, good mouth, nicely boned & strong pasterns, reasonable in front & well ribbed back, nice mover; 3 Beck’s Nardik Tiger Woods. JD (2) 1 Highmoor’s Printzagems Verve, black, pleasing expression. A shade more stop than is needed. Good mouth. Rather short of his ruff at present which did not help his ears. Well developed in ribcage. Lower set tail than it appears when standing. Moved well going away; 2 Eades’ Seirian Mr Bojangles, loved the head & expression on this brown & his toning pigment is lovely. Nicely boned, good front & neat feet. Bodily he has some developing & maturing to do, then he could trouble the best. PGD (7,1) 1 Thomas’ Cyfelin Rudna Razzle Dazzle from Indizak, correct size, good neck to give correct outline, nicely angulated in front & standing on good feet, pleasing head, good stop & correctly set ears, high set tail over level topline & moved out well with the desired brisk action; 2 Hourd’s Stonelight Rafferty’s Rules, a shade more neck would help the outlook of this exhibit but he has a well proportioned head, correct stop & well set ears, lovely creak jacket of correct texture, good bone & neat feet, well developed in front & moved properly both ways; 3 Norkett’s Applebanks Thruppence. LD (4) 1 Furber’s Holbain Choc O Late, visually this dog appears to have rather a long muzzle but upon examination he is correct with a moderate stop & equality between muzzle & skull. Excellent quality brown jacket, pigmentation to match. Maybe a shade heavier in bone than is needed but he excels in rib & topline & has good tailset. Decent front construction & moved properly in both directions; 2 Hawker’s Chilite Nite Spirit, somewhat smaller black who lacks a little in leg length. Carrying a big coat which does not help his balance. Pleasing head type, well sprung body & decent tailset; 3 Halligan’s Icabel Shine On. OD (8,3) 1 Wright’s Minigardens Emil Lovely Boy, very typical white, good eye shape, excellent head proportions & wedge shaped muzzle, correct stop, neat little ears, good neck, well angulated shoulders, correct upper arm & nicely tight at elbows, nicely boned & well sprung in rib, good topline, excellent tailset & moved in the true Spitz fashion. CC; 2 Andrew’s Ch Porterble Sirius Black from Runfold, lovely black with many of the same attributes as 1. Rather full of himself & not quite as positive on the move. Loved his head type. Perhaps could have a fuller coat but deserved the RCC; 3 Highmoor’s Ch Kartmel Legolas.
PB (10,2) 1 Pearce & Francis’ Longsdale’s Jen You Win, when posed she is just exquisite, outline & balance just right, on examination I was not disappointed from her lovely head with just enough stop, clear dark eyes & good bite with the neatest of ears, down a good arched neck into level topline & perfect tailset. The best front construction in the whole entry, sufficient bone & neat feet, lovely ribcage & quarters, all clothed in sparkling, clean, well groomed cream jacket. Moved beautifully, perhaps a shade close but this is easily forgiven. Wish she was mine. BP, CC & BOB. This was her third so she now needs another when she is out of Puppy to gain her title. Made the cut in the group & did the breed proud; 2 Hill’s Cyfelin Rudna Juliet, cream, lovely head, enough skull & excellent pigmentation, good legs & feet, level topline, excellent tailset, moved quite well. This class contained some real babies who were somewhat disadvantaged in this company; 3 Sheasby’s Baobab Barley Sugar. JB (2) 1 Hamer’s Clarmers Caramel Surprise, at just 6 month shows a great deal of promise, in lovely coat, super outline & used herself really well, great confidence, nicely ribbed up, great tailset, appealing head. Bite should tighten. Excellent legs & feet, moved really well; 2 Chambers’ Printzagems Viva La Diva for Musique, black, need to continue to come up on the leg. Standing over a bit too much ground. Good head, neck & topline. Rather unsettled but I am sure she will improve. PGB (5,1) 1 Morgan’s Lusam Maybe Baby at Ahlenagen, very attractive sable of just the right balance & outline, excellent coarse coat of right length, lovely head & expression, nicely boned, standing on good feet, well ribbed up, good topline & tailset, particularly good action going away; 2 Wright’s Chilite Lunar Moon, pretty orange, lovely head type. Tended to hold her ears rather wide apart. Nice neck leading into good topline, well sprung in rib. A shade longer coupled than 1. Good tailset, moved well going away; 3 Kemp’s Stormavon Snowdrop with Yanlan. LB (4,2) 1 Pearce & Francis’ Radajasa Agent Cher Bertfiz of Longsdale, nicely coated cream, just out of Junior & still to mature in body. Sweet in head though ears could be smaller. Pleasing front angulation & standing on good legs & feet, nicely carried tail & held herself well on the move. Could perhaps be a little shorter overall; 2 Allison’s Wychlea The Debutant of Terelatim, jet black in huge coat, alert expression, neatest of ears. Somewhat low to ground & on the move went so fast she proved to be rather erratic with feet going in every direction. OB (8,2) 1 Pearce & Francis’ Ch Rimazet Serafino of Longsdale, a worthy ch who was not in the best of coats but deserved her place due to her almost faultless construction. Moved really well, no doubt this is due to her correct forechest & layback of shoulder with an upper arm that brings her elbows in the right place. Nicely ribbed back, good topline, excellent tailset, lovely head type, good mouth, nice pigmentation & good eye shape. RCC; 2 Wright & Storm’s Ch Orion Absolutely Fabulous, white in very profuse coat that was almost too long & thus obscuring her outline. Maybe she would benefit from a little more neck too. Lovely type head but tear staining spoilt her expression a little, I do know how hard this is to deal with. Well sprung in rib & decent tailset, pleasing on the move; 3 Hill’s Edburton Llyngoes at Cyfelin.
