Critique

I do hope the breed Clubs can negotiate a better part of the venue for this delightful little breed, as this part of it was awful and the majority of the exhibits were traumatised by the noise, the constant PA announcements and when the assessment table was set on the edge of the adjoining ring of a large noisy breed that was the final straw for some of them.  A Championship show is an expensive exercise nowadays and I did feel that each exhibit deserved a fair chance. If this prolonged my judging I hope the exhibitors could appreciate why.  The breed standard calls for "a nearly flat skull when viewed from above", but I was concerned that I found several that were quite domed, which alters the balance of the head and expression.

PD (4, 1) 1 Halligan Nardik New Moon. A real golden boy. Lovely well balanced wedge head with neat high set ears and the cheekiest of expressions in those dark eyes.  Correct shoulder placement, good body of substance with high set tail. Moved and showed confidently for 9 months. RCC and I hope he matures into a great future. 2 Beck  Nardick Tiger Woods. Litter brother to 1, but not so mature. Needs to body up and settle on the move. 3 Holmes  Bucks Fizz.

JD (5) 1 Highmoor  Printzagems Verve. Attractive, nicely constructed youngster with pleasing head, good bone and feet.  Not in full coat, but moved soundly and showed well. 2 Morgan Cyfelin Jack Frost at Ahlenagen   Well balanced head with alert expression, dark eyes and neat ears. Compact body with correct tail set, good bone and short hocks. Presented in full coat but rather unsteady on the move. 3 Holmes & Leadbetter Pommarys Thomas.

PGD (4) 1 Horton Holbain Mr. Pringle. Well balanced wedge head with dark oblique eye and pleasing expression. Nicely made throughout with profuse coat accentuating his short coupled body.  Good bone and neat feet.  Moved well in front but rather wide behind. 2 Beck Lasaulette Rustic Rudyard. Also in full coat with nice head, though expression slightly marred by watering eyes. Good deep body of substance but rather unsettled on the move. 3 Thomas Cyfelin Rudna Razzle Dazzle from indizak.

LD (6) 1 Robert Oberitz Sunspot. Lovely head with lively expression high set and well used ears. Good deep body of substance, with high set tail.  Nice bone and neat feet.  Well trained, shown and presented. 2 Furber Holbain Choc O Late. A little plain in head but made up for with lively expression and well used ears.  Correctly  constructed body presenting a pleasing profile. Moved very well - when handler slowed down! 3 Beck Lasaulette Rustic Rudyard.

OD
(6, 1) 1 Wriight Ch. Minigardens Emil Lovely Boy (Imp). A beautiful cream dog with lovely balanced wedge head and alert expression, dark eyes just slightly marred by tear staining.  Correct shoulder placement,  body of substance with deep chest, short back, nice turn of stifle and high set tail. Moved and showed superbly, completely at one with his handler.  DCC & BOB. 2 Furber Metcalfe Flactem Domino. Pleasing head and kind expression. Nicely made throughout, though carrying enough weight. Stood and moved a little wide in front but moved cleanly behind. 3 Serman Ch. Tymy Tymex JW.

VD (2) 1 Potts Flactem Refelection mit  Rimazet. Lovely head and expression with dark oblique eye. Well sprung body with deep chest and good front. High set tail finished a smart profile. In excellent condition for age.  2 Highmoor Ch. Kartmel Legolas. Not in full coat which showed his correct construction and movement. Nice head with pleasing expression but a little reluctant to use his ears.  Nicely made throughout and well handled.

PB
(5, 1) 1 Pearce & Francis Longsdale's Jen You Win. A lovely bitch in all departments. Pleasing well balanced head with dark oblique eye and neat ears.  Good reach of neck, correct shoulder placement, nicely sprung body of substance with high set tail. Good coat of correct texture. Moved soundly and never stopped showing. Almost too finished for a puppy. RCC. 2 Rogerson Tarendak Desirabubble. Another cream puppy, smaller than 1. With pretty head and lively expression, but not using her ears to advantage. Well made throughout with good coat for age. Needs to tighten in hind movement. 3 Bradbury  Stonelight Smoke'n Mirrors by Wychlea.

JB (1) 1 Hill Cyfelin Rudna Juliet. Very pretty little bitch with attractive head and sweet expression. Rather nervous on the table and looked longer in back due to lack of coat.  Needs to body up and tighten in front movement.

PGB
(2) 1 Hughes & Forrester Tymy Quickstep to Candease. Feminine little bitch with lovely face and expression and neat ears. Well sprung body, good bone and feet, nice high set tail.  Moved and showed well just needed a little more coat to finish the picture. 2  Wright Chilita Lunar Moon. Bigger than 1. and presented in full coat.  Well balanced wedge head but not using her ears. Nicely made throughout but rather unsettled on the move.

LB
(3) 1 Serman Tymy Footsteps JW. Smart black bitch with alert spitz expression, dark eye and neat ears. Nice front, good shoulder placement and neat feet.  Moved well both ends, just needed more coat to complete the picture. 2 Morgan Lusam Maybe Baby at Ahlenagen. Compact femine bitch with pretty head and expression. Nicely put together with high set tail.  Moved well in front but needs to tighten up behind. 3 Pearce & Francis Radalasa Agent Cher Bertfix of Longsdale.

OB (6) 1 Trendle Lusam Party Popper Sh.CM, b/w parti bitch absolutely oozing spitz personality.  Well balanced head, pretty expression and dark oblique eye. Well laid shoulder, good spring of rib, short coupled with high set tail.  In full coat of good texture and one of the best movers of the day. Never stopped showing for a moment.  BCC which from the rapturous applause left no doubt that this was her third! 2 Pearce & Francis Ch. Rimazet Serafina of Lonsdale. A quality bitch with lovely head, neat ears and pleasing expression. Good front and shoulder placement, short back and high set tail. Moved soundly both ends and showed well. 3 Hill & Edburton's Llyngoes at Cyfelin.

VB 1 Wright Chilita Midnight Music. In excellent condition for her 9 years.  Lovely head, correct mouth, dark eye and well used ears. Compact short coupled body of substance with good bone, neat feet and short hocks. Moved well both ends. 2 Hughes & Forrester Lusam Lucy in the Sky over Candease. Feminine little bitch with pretty head and alert expression, but not using her ears to advantage. Correct body construction, but seemed rather unsettled, especially on the move.
