Critique
I do hope the breed Clubs can negotiate a better part of the venue for this delightful little breed, as this part of it was awful and the majority of the exhibits were traumatised by the noise, the constant PA announcements and when the assessment table was set on the edge of the adjoining ring of a large noisy breed that was the final straw for some of them. A Championship show is an expensive exercise nowadays and I did feel that each exhibit deserved a fair chance. If this prolonged my judging I hope the exhibitors could appreciate why. The breed standard calls for "a nearly flat skull when viewed from above", but I was concerned that I found several that were quite domed, which alters the balance of the head and expression.
PD (4, 1) 1 Halligan Nardik New Moon. A real golden boy. Lovely well balanced wedge head with neat high set ears and the cheekiest of expressions in those dark eyes. Litter brother to 1, but not so mature. Needs to body up and settle on the move. 3 Holmes Bucks Fizz.
