Critique
When I saw the entry, I did wonder what the overall quality would be like and I am glad to say I was pleasantly surprised. There were a couple that carried too much coat for my preference, but the dogs underneath were still of sound construction. The wind upset a few, but everyone had the same conditions to deal with.
JD (1) 1 Gow's Kartmel Apl De Ap At Khakassia. So many qualities on this young man. Lovely head pattern with well set eyes and ears. Nice neck. Well set tail. Moving very soundly when settled. Lacking undercoat and challenges the measure a little too much
PGD (2) 1 Highmoor's Printzagems Verve. Absolutely square black boy. Wedge head with well set eyes and ears. Balanced throughout which showed on his moderate side gait which was brisk and easy. Good bone and body properties. Lovely quality youngster. CC 2 Gow's Oberitz Head Over Heels For Khakassia. Very attractive boy, a parti colour who was well presented. Lighter framed dog throughout than first. Head was more domed than I prefer.
LD (1) 1 Furber's Holbain Choc O Late. Quality brown with bigger head. Great coat quality with a pattern not detracting from overall construction. Broad back and well sprung rib with short loin and well set tail.
OD (3) 1 Highmoor Ch Kartmel Legolas. Lovely square Black boy with well shaped back skull and well set ears. Made the most of his lovely arched neck. Solid body and well set tail. Preferred eye colour of the Post Grad in the Challenge. Res CC 2 Wright's Minigarden Emil Lovely Boy (Imp). Glamorous white with dense black points. Smaller and lighter framed than first; he nevertheless has quality bone and good body properties. 3 Metcalfe's Flacton Domino
PB (1) 1 Metcalfe's Flacten Midnight Blue. With a big plush shaded coat this is a poppet. Cobby body, very short loin. Balanced side gait. Head very 'kittenish'. Best Puppy.
JB (2) 1 Pearce & Francis's Longdale's Jen You Win JW. Up to the measure Cream with correct double coat and good coat pattern emphasising her square outline. Lovely head with a flattish back skull and a decent amount of muzzle. Small ears complete the picture. Good bone for size and colour. Handles so well on the table with decent rib and strong loin. Great tail set. Moved out very well; active, with well balanced side gait. A happy and willing showgirl. Pleased to give her a crowning CC, with BOB and thrilled to see her take 2nd in the Utility Group. 2 Rogerson's Terendak Desirabubble. A smaller cream girl with profuse coat of excellent quality. Dense black points. Longer in back than winner. One of the problems with the denser pigment on lighter dogs is that the eyes tend to look bug eyed, which they are not necessarily.
PGB (2) 1 Tullis' Radajasa Agent Bett Cherfiz. Excellent body and strong loin on this bitch. Off square in profile, she moved out well and was balanced on side gait and moving soundly. Well set tail. Head tending to dome in back skull. Very well handled and presented. 2 Chamber's Printzagems Viva La Diva For Musique. Black who is looking un balanced at the present with her 'bum in the air', which is not hidden by coat, with undercoat lacking. Not moving well, unsettled probably by the amount of noise caused by the wind in the tent.
LB (1) 1 Pearce & Francis's Radajasa Agent Cher Bertfiz Of Longsdale. Longer cast cream. Glamorous coat and plumed tail. Unbalanced on side gait with straighter front than rear.
OB (2) 1 Pearce & Francis's Ch Rimazet Serafino Of Longsdale JW. Dilute brown with a very square outline. Profuse good quality coat. Good head pattern with well placed ears. Moving briskly and soundly. Preferred slightly smaller ear of Post Grad bitch in the Challenge. Res CC 2 Duncan's Ir Ch Tymy Tapestry Jun Ch. Longer cast than 1, this sable has a lovely head and small ears. In profuse, plush, well presented coat, her weight caused her a problem and she was labouring in front on the move.
