Critique

German Spitz Club Of Great Britain Open Show, 11.4.10.

A lovely day was spent, with my thanks going to stewards & committee for their hard work and to exhibitors & spectators also for a pleasant, friendly atmosphere.

Some quality Kleins to go over, a few promising youngsters coming through.

German Spitz Klein

VD (5,2) 1. Furber’s Ch & Ir Ch.Wizaland Dr Papalou At Holbain. At 12 years this dog can still outmove  most. Lovely condition for age. Masculine wedge head with good skull : muzzle proportions, spitzy expression. Body is so well balanced with correct assembly in front and rear quarters. Well boned straight legs, neat catlike feet.  Good spring of rib, nicely rounded, with moderate tuck up, tail carried well over back. Moved true, straight coming & going with moderate extension in front and good drive from rear, effortless and brisk in profile, maintaining level topline. (BV).  2. Highmoor’s Ch Kartmel Legolas. Stunning dog, with excellent head & expression, quality male. Well ribbed up, short strong loin. Well let down in hock. High set tail carried over back. Could not out move 1. 3. Trendle’s Lusam Charlie Dobby.
MPD (0)
PD (2,1) 1. Cook’s Goldritz Splash N Burn. Immature youngster, but lovely in outline. Head well proportioned, defined stop, dark eye. Good angulations, well ribbed up with moderate bone. Full of exuberance & erratic on move. Presented in sparkling white coat. (RBP). Lost out on BP to litter brother who is just that more mature all over and stronger in head & bone.
JD (7,3) 1. Furber’s Holbain Choc-O -Late.  Quality, mature youngster, developing well. Strong head with good muzzle:skull ratio, oval eye harmonising with coat colour. Well developed front, excellent spring of rib, short strong loin. Excellent front & rear angulations, well off for bone. Best I have seen him move today, moved steadily with drive from rear. Just needs full coat to complete outline.   2. Hill’s Cyfelin Rudna Romeo. Well developed young male, good depth of skull with broad muzzle, dark eye, well placed ears. Almost square in outline with high tailset & substantial bone, neat cat-like feet. Not so well developed in forechest as 1 & slightly longer in loin. Well presented with abundant harsh coat. Moved well in profile. 3. Cook’s Goldritz Stole The Sun (BP). More mature than brother, stronger in head, with lovely eye & expression. Substantial body, good angulations front & rear, moderate bone.  Moved steadily with drive. Well presented, with harsh, gleaming coat.
PGD (5,2) 1. Francis & Pearce’s  Stormavon Sonofa Legend of Longsdale, almost square in profile, high tailset, head of correct proportions, good wedge, neat eye & ears. Moved straight coming & going, maintaining level topline. Such a showman, presented well, firm & fit body.  2. Bradbury & Morgen’s Edburton Braun Fox at Wychlea. Very immature compared to 1, but body of correct proportions, out of coat but what there is, is harsh. Lovely wedge head, neat eye & ears giving a lovely expression. Very compact body, good spring of rib & short loin. Needs to develop in forechest & brisket.  3. Hourd’s Stonelight Rafferty’s Rules.
LD (3,3)
OD (11,2) 1. Francis & Pearce’s Stormavon Special To Me. In full harsh coat, groomed to perfection, this boy did not disappoint today. Beautiful head pattern, broad muzzle with oval dark eye, neat ear, giving lively intelligent expression. Moderately short neck set well into muscled shoulder. Well bodied up & good bone. Stood foursquare, with tail carried high over back. Moved briskly with drive from well proportioned rear. In fabulous hard condition, well schooled & showed his attributes well.(BOB, RBIS); 2. Serman’s Tymy Tymex, So well put together, correct body proportions enabling him to move out well in all directions, although not quite as mature as 1 in body. Head handles well with good wedge, neat eye. In good harsh coat. (RBD); 3. Stannard’s Ch. Lusam Davey Dingle At Ulmarra.

VB (5,2) 1. Avery’s Kartmel Breezer. Well balanced in outline, moderate tuck up, high set tail, standing foursquare. Head of lovely proportions, oval eye. Good angulations front & rear, moderate bone, well ribbed up, very short coupled. Moved well coming & going. Responded well to her young handler (RBB).  2. Wright’s Chilite Midnight Magic. Typy bitch with good wedge head. Front & rear assembly of correct proportions. Not so well off for bone as 1 & slightly longer in loin, but moved steadily coming & going. 3. Garwood & Highmoor’s Ch Printzagems Vedi.
MPB (0).
PB (2,1) 1. Avery’s Aveka Carbon Copy. Very similar in type to VB winner but with longer head pattern. Moderate reach of neck, good forechest.  Not cooperating well with handler & insisted on skipping on hind quarters around ring (BPB).
JB(9,4) 1. Serman’s Tymy Footsteps. Beautiful head shape with feminine expression. Neat oval eye & small triangular ears set high on head. Well ribbed up & short coupled. Still needs to develop in forechest. Moderate bone. Moved with style & drive, straight coming & going. 2. Morgan’s Lusam Maybe Baby At Ahlenagen. Another quality youngster in good harsh coat. Lovely wedge head, slightly larger ear than 1. Excellent forechest & front assembly, moderate tuck up. Adequate bone, good tailset. Moved true coming & going. 3. Francis & Pearce’s Radajasa Agent Cher Bert Fiz Of Longsdale.
PGB (5,2) 1. Francis & Pearce’s Rimazet Serafino of Longsdale. Smart wedge head, muzzle of good width. Almost square in outline, high set tail. Body well put together, excellent front assembly, moderate bone, neat catlike feet. Well ribbed up. Correct rear angulations, well let down in hock. Moved straight coming & going, with brisk, effortless gait.  2. Stannard’s Ulmarra Shady Lady. Well proportioned body, lovely to handle & moved well coming & going. More rounded in skull than 1. 3. Metcalfe’s Longsdale Lady Myla At Flactem.
LB (9,4) 1. Penwarne’s Sheldamar Spell On Voo. This bitch has matured well since I last judged her. Correct in outline, standing foursquare with moderate tuck up. Strong wedge head with neat eye & ear. Well off for bone. Moved straight coming & going, maintaining level topline. Very well schooled & in lovely condition, just in need of more length in coat to complement outline.  2. Francis & Peace’s Rimazet Santanna Of Longsdale. Similar qualities to 1, but not quite the substance. Straight coming & going. Correct wedge head, feminine expression. 3. Trendle’s Lusam Super Spats.
OB (4,2) 1. Dyer’s Ch Wychlea The Dutchess ShCM. Top quality bitch, so well constructed & not lacking in substance. Strong wedge head, neat eye & ear. Well bodied up with strong front & ear quarters, well presented in full harsh coat, well set on tail. On the move does not put a foot wrong. Steady, effortless movement covering the ground well, maintaining level topline. (BB, RBOB, BOS). 2. Highmoor’s Kartmel Bootlicious. Finer throughout than 1, but well put together, compact bitch. Pretty head & expression. Moved true coming & going, with effortless gait.
