Critique
It was a pleasure to judge the excellent entry & I can only apologise for the head cold which came over me during the course of the judging. I hope none of the exhibitors contracted it from me as it was most inconvenient. PD (4) 1 Beard’s Flamuna Franz Ferdinand, well proportioned black, a little immature in body. Correct head, good eye shape, neat ears, carries tail well, good angulation, correct action being carried on excellent tight feet; 2 Pooley’s Wyndlee Short ‘N Sweet at Azkaban, somewhat heavier in head than 1. Tiniest of ears, good skull to muzzle relationship, nicely boned legs, good angulation, held good topline on the move, pleasing tailset; 3 Smith’s Sandkarahs Mister Mischeif. JD (5,2) 1 Depper’s Abbicher Black Diamond, constructionally the best of the three here, good head & eye, good ear placement though they could be a bit large. Sturdy, not fat, in body with nice bone & good feet, topline & tailset good but had to be on the floor to demonstrate this was he was just a little shy on the table. Nice mover. Hope he settles; 2 Winser’s Nixtev Notorious of Lysebourne, well coated black, pleasing head. Somewhat upright in front thus making him move a shade wide in front, carrying a bit too much weight so this does not help his movement. Nice tight feet; 3 Drechsler’s Wyndlee Blowin In The Wind at Jeansway. PGD (7,4) 1 Alfred’s Liubice Just William, beautifully coated white, best of toplines, pleasing head, excellent stop, good ears, darkest of eyes, pleasing neck, well constructed body, all carried on well boned legs & neat feet; 2 Hill’s Sobriety Hot Chocolate, brown, fantastic coat, loved his head in every respect with toning eye & pigment, pleasing bone & decent angulation. Would like his feet tighter. Tailset OK. Was let down on the move. LD (7,1) 1 Mulholland’s Zephon Spookz The Tempest, presents a fantastic picture, in well presented correct coat with nothing exaggerated, lovely head with a degree of masculinity without any sign of coarseness, well shaped muzzle, good skull of decent width, lovely expression, dark eyes, good ears, excellent topline & tailset, correct compact body, good legs & feet, best of fronts, moved positively. CC & BOB; 2 Hewett’s Spellcast Secrets And Lies, has many similar attributes & was unlucky to come up against Tempest on such good form. A little more stop to his head seemed to spoil his expression. Everything in the right place & beautifully presented. Not quite as positive in front as 1; 3 Dickinson’s Nixtev Inferno. OD (7,2) 1 Chambers’ Ch Druitz Corncracker for Teamspitz, lovely cream, super outline, excellent tailset, good topline held on the move & demonstrated correct action, loved his head with the combination of eye & ear placement just right. Pushed the LD hard for top spot. RCC; 2 Hewett’s Ch Spellcast Talk To Me, beautifully balanced exhibit, good black jacket, excellent head, superb pigmentation, excellent bone & feet, pleasing topline & tailset. Just not quite as positive as 1 in hind action; 3 McCulloch’s Ch/Ir Ch Wyndlee Chandera Spectre. PB (5,3) Two lovely babies who were allowed to enjoy themselves, & so they should. 1 Beard’s Flamuna Oasis, very pretty, lovely rib, topline & tailset, pleasing eyes, good mouth, nice neck, well boned & standing on good feet, moved steadily. BP; 2 Hewett’s Wyndlea Sweeter Than Wine, pretty parti, excellent head. Needs to develop further in rib but has plenty of time. Nice head type & properties, good bone, neat feet, moved OK. JB (3,1) Both exhibits need to develop & mature in front to sort out their action but otherwise are pleasing in type. 1 Andrew’s Runfold Marsh Mallo, good head proportions, pleasing expression, correct in topline & tailset, standing on well boned legs & neat feet, pleasing rear action; 2 Heslop’s Flamuna Fratelli, head needs to mature but very pretty in outlook. Nicely proportioned, good spring of rib, very nice legs & feet, good topline & tailset. PGB (2) 1 Orchard’s Spilmah Affair To Say, truly a showgirl, pleasing head, good eyes & mouth, excellent angulation, well sprung body, good topline, excellent tailset, beautifully presented, moved very well; 2 Day’s Desaria Lotte, rather finer in muzzle than 1. Good eyes & pigmentation, pleasing outline, in nice coat, stands on good feet & good topline. Somewhat erratic on the move so needs to practice a bit more. LB (5) 1 Moir’s Nixtev Liberty at Jansanleis, glamorous & moves like a dream making her an easy winner here. Beautifully balanced & has so little one could criticise, well constructed, sweetest of heads, excels in type & oozes quality. Could perhaps have a slightly longer ribcage then my notes just state the rest is lovely. CC; 2 Purves’ Rossfort Griselda, smaller but pleasing type though a little longer cast. Nice head & expression, good eyes & ears, nicely boned, good feet, correct tailset which helps overall picture. Fairly good on the move; 3 Beech & Beech’s Galvizach Limited Look in Sandkarah. OB (4,1) Class headed by two browns which were very similar though I see their breeding is unconnected in the first generation. 1 Sanderson’s Ch Galvizach Fredricka via Danack, scored on a very good front & excellent feet, super coat of excellent colour, compact well sprung body, moved rather well & held topline showing off good tailset. RCC; 2 Chambers’ Ch Nosregor Bewitched for Musique, has the same attributes as 1 with the exception that she insisted on turning her front feet out. Of such pleasing quality throughout, she probably has better days. Beautifully presented; 3 Orchard’s Ch Pennypot Enchantress with Spilmah.
