Critique
GERMAN SPITZ-MITTEL
An
interesting and enjoyable entry where the majority of exhibits were
sound and moved typically for the breed. My main criticism was in
balance, too many short on the leg or long in the back to give the
square shape which is fundamental to type.
PB
(1) 1 O’Loughlin’s Caolite Wicca. 10 months cream, needs a little more
leg for perfect balance but a lot of type in his sturdy build.
Excellent head, good coat texture, moves briskly. Can just tighten in
front and pasterns. BP.
JD
(5) 1 Hill’s Wyndlee Sweet Talking Guy of Sobriety. Parti who was by
far the best over of the class. In excellent coat, good bone and body.
Would prefer a little less stop and his ears could be higher set.
Carried himself well. 2 Drechsler’s Wyndlee Blowin In The Wind at
Jeansway. Black of good proportion, excellent skull and muzzle. Eyes
could be darker. Good ears. Could be firmer on the move. 3 Beard’s
Flamuna Franz Ferdinand.
PGD
(6,1) 1 Williams’s Druitz Black Prince. Very Spitz in balance and
movement, good bone and ribbing, excellent head, ears and ears. Not
quite in his best coat but sufficient. Very accurate movement, should
finish an excellent dog. 2 Smith’s Wyndlee Ghostly Magic, cream. Ialso
liked a lot, excellent outline, in super coat. Not quite front action
of 1 and his ears are a touch larger but he has a lot of quality, 3
Clayton’s Rossfort Gerhardt.
LD
(8,2) 1 Mulholland’s Zephon Spookz The Tempest. High quality dog of
lovely proportions and outline, excellent coat texture, good head
proportions, very accurate and brisk on the move, scored in front
action. Should get his title and pressed hard, the two who beat him
just a touch shorter. 2 Hill’s Sobriety Hot Chocolate. Caught my eye
immediately for his proportions. A touch shorter than 1 but not the
pasterns or feet of 1 but I loved a lot about him. 3 Beard’s Wyndlee
Buffalo Soldier.
OD
(6,2) 1 Hewett’s Ch Spellcast Talk To Me. Black, lovely build and short
backed, balanced, correct brisk action, full of type, brisk sound
action if a little close behind. Excellent head. Not in full coat but
no denying him CC & BOB. 2 Chambers’ Ch Druitz Corncracker For
Teamspitz JW ShCM. 6 years, lovely quality, excellent bone and feet.
Not in his full coat. Preferred tailset of 1. RCC. 3 Hill’s Wyndlee Yin
of Sobriety.
PB
(4,2) 1 Thurston’s Caoilta Iceni. 10 months white, excellent bone,
feet, very good eyes and movement. Would like a little more leg to
balance her. Excellent coat texture, very sound and firm on the move. 2
Hill’s Pufnstuf Put A Spell On You at Sobriety. 9 months black, lovely
proportions and excellent head. Needs to drop in chest now and this
shows in her front movement. Well made but not quite the strength of
bone of 1.
JB
(4,1) Very disappointing class. 1 Hewett’s Wyndlee Sweeter Than Wine.
Parti, too long in the loin and this shows in her topline. Good bone,
good head proportions. Ears could be better set. 2 Cleworth’s Studholme
Queen To Be. Smaller bitch but better balance and carries herself well.
Would prefer a little more substance and I hope she might improve in
one area which is why she was second here.
PGB
(5,2) 1 Beard’s Spawood No Holds Barred. Gold, easy winner, full of
type, very good balance, excellent chest and ribcage, quality head and
ears, very sound. When she comes into full coat will be a top class
bitch. 2 Andrew’s Runfold Marsh Mallo. Out of coat and had the
disadvantage of another handler to move her but she is square, short
and Spitzy, scored over 3 on balance and topline. 3 Clayton’s Studholme
Diamond Fire.
LB
(8,4) 1 O’Loughlin’s Caoilta Kitkat. Brown, easy winner, full of type
and in excellent coat, correct head shape, good ears, brisk accurate
movement, carrying herself well, looked very well. CC, her first,
should go on to win some more. 2 Williams’s Druitz Melisande. Red, not
in her best coat but won this place as she is short and square, good
ribcage, good head type, neat ears, good eye shape. Could be a little
stronger in rear action but scored over 3 on balance. 3 Clayton’s
Studholme Diamond Fire.
OB (6)
Mixed for size and balance and some out of coat. 1 Garbutt’s Nixtev
Kameo. Not big but sturdy, pleased for balance and movement, quality
all through, has sturdy bone for her size, good ribbing, lovely head
and eye. RCC. 2 Williams’s Daraydala One For The Boys at Bruitz. 6
years Choc/w, loved her proportions, balance and movement. Not in her
best coat. Excellent carriage and full of type. 3 Conway’s Druitz Corn
Dolly at Spawood.
