Critique

Mittel My thanks to all exhibitors for this marvellous entry. I was really looking forward to going over them so it was a great shame that so many were unable to attend because of the weather. Nevertheless, those dogs present were a representative group and I greatly enjoyed my day and the good humour of those exhibitors who braved the elements.

MPD
(3,2) 1. Winser’s Sobriety’s Diamond Magic, standing alone because of the absentees, this is a dog of very good conformation. Although just 6 months it’s got the right shape and good angulation fore and aft, good tailset, coat still needs to come on; still rather a fluffy puppy coat, head just a little strong and eyes just a fraction round, ears perhaps a little too big, body is great buts its head is a little too strong for it’s size at the moment.

PD
(3,2) 1. Orr’s Sobriety Element Of Freedom, another 6 months old, a little bigger than the one in the last class but not oversized, very similar markings, excellent outline, good coat, well angulated, good head and expression, nice eye, ears a little on the large side but otherwise a very good example of the breed.

PGD (7,4) 1. Winser’s Nixtev Notorious Of Lysebourne, very nicely shaped dog, moved quite well, although the movement of all of these dogs was nothing to write home about to be fair, right conformation, good head and expression, nice coat, good tailset, stood very well, good feet. 2. Pooley’s Wyndlee Short N Sweet At Azkaban, little too long in body but nice head and expression, little upright in shoulder so rather short striding, nice dog nevertheless. 3. Depper’s Abbicher Black Diamond, little too straight fore and aft, holding itself rather hunched, good head and expression, coat very good, tailset excellent, nice feet.

LD (4,3) Again three absentees. 1. William’s Druitz Black Prince, this is a lovely example of the breed, beautiful head and expression, very good conformation, lovely coat, just a little resticted on the move coming but otherwise lovely dog.

OD (9,6) 1. & DCC Hewett’s Ch Spellcast Secrets And Lies JW, this is absolutely cracking example of the breed, he’s really gorgeous, beautiful mover, lovely head and expression, I was just knocked out by it immediately, excellent conformation, tail perhaps could come round a fraction more. 2. & RDCC Orr’s Sobriety Hot Chocolate, another lovely example of the breed, beautiful conformation, moved quite well, just a little weak on the front pasterns, really rich brown, lovely expression. 3. Hewett’s Ch Runfld Full Frottle At Spellcast, another good dog, but beginning to show his age in his head, teeth and eye which is rather round, but otherwise a lovely dog, very good feet, lacking a little coat today.

MPB (4,2) 1. & BP Orr’s Rossfort Andante With Sobriety, very pretty bitch, fractionally long in back at the moment, lovely expression, moved quite well for a youngster. 2. Cleworth’s Kasshyk Midnight Edition, also pretty, very small I must say, the minor fault in the mouth may correct itself as it matures, very well structured and angulated, good quality coat.

JB
(3,2) 1. King’s Druitz Cariad Bach Of Grizwold, standing alone, very pretty head, lovely colouring, very good coat and tailset, nice square outline, good fore angulation, a little straight behind, nice example of the breed.

LB (5,1) 1. BCC & BOB Connor’s Galvizach Limited Design, beautiful little bitch, very compact, just the right size, very feminine, excellent angulation and conformation, beautiful movement, well deserved first place. I know she is small but she is beautifully put together. 2. & RBCC Orr’s Pufnstuf Put A Spell On You At Sobriety, lovely dog, just lacking a little coat today and standing a little close in the fore quarter. 3. Hewett’s Wyndlee Sweeter Than Wine, another very nice dog. Four lovely dogs in this class, although the one standing fourth a little barrel chested, otherwise pretty. Very good examples of the breed throughout.

OB
(7,5) 1. Orr’s Sobriety Fifth Element, very sweet bitch, rather lightly coated, lovely head and expression, moved extremely well. 2. Conway’s Druitz Corndolly At Spawood, little more substantial overall, rather short in the neck with rather a full eye, nice otherwise, good conformation.
