Critique

An interesting appointment and one I had been looking forward to. The breed is still so very mixed in type, size, proportions and degrees of soundness. I have always thought the height range of 12"-15" to be extremely generous and as a result some at the lower end look like they should be with the Kleins, whilst some of the larger ones look like they could be young Buhunds. When both sizes are in the same class it does look a bit odd! I tried to stick to the minds eye picture I have but it was not always possible. I was interested to see that the BOB winner is a half brother of the RCC bitch and both owned by Miss O'Loughlin. The BCC & Res DCC are also in one ownership, that of Mr & Mrs Chambers. I liked both ticket winners immensely and the choice for BOB was interesting. The bitch shrieks Type, but she does not quite have the stunning eye of the dog. She is shorter coupled, whilst he has the better front assembly and therefore steadier front action which tipped the scales his way. Still a young dog but he should be of great value to the breed.

VD
(2) 1 & Res CC Chambers' Ch Druitz Corncracker for Teamspitz JW ShCM cream in fabulous coat and condition and he has clearly lapped with the Gods as he looks only half of his age. He has definite style and class, beautiful headpiece, eyes and expression, he is well bodied, good legs and feet and is so very sound on the move. An easy Res BD. 2 Thomas' Desaria Darby for Daraydala what a character this gorgeously red fox coloured dog is. Lovely make and shape, certainly compact, well bodied, tail well set and carried, absolutely full of beans and on the tiptoe of expectation. Missing a few teeth now and not in the super coat of the winner. Looks like he would be fun to live with.

SPD
(6) 1 & BP Garbutt's Nixtev Polarize heaps to like in this very handsome headed young cream dog. I know he needs to tighten in front, but having noted that, his virtues are many. Lovely size, not overdone in neck, so well ribbed, good muscle in hindquarters and his side action is smooth and without exaggeration. In superb coat I was happy to give him the BP award. 2 Lord's Nixtev Phoenix, I see is litter brother to the winner and I'm sure he will do a lot of winning. Perhaps not so good in eye as Polar and he needs to fill out a bit more in foreface, but he is young enough for that to happen. However, he scores in spring of rib, he is just off the square in length/height proportions, has a high set tail and he was shown in full, beautifully presented coat. It was a pleasure to see going around the ring with a smooth, purposeful stride. 3 Winser's Sobriety's Diamond Magic of Lysebourne parti in full coat and certainly short coupled. His tail set is good, his hocks quite firm and his action smooth as he circles the ring. I would prefer his ears to be smaller and and his eyes are more round than oval hence his expression not so appealing as those above him.

SPD (3) 1 N. Phoenix. 2 Chambers & Highmoor's Druitz Huffenia this deep cream was in lovely coat and condition, but what a fidget. Pleasing head, eye little full for me and I would like a shade more weight in muzzle. Good ears, little neck and fairly compact. Side action alright once he got going but he played up quite a bit on the up and down. 3 Bray's Abbicher Earth Song big ribbed sable, so compact, well weighted boned and good feet. Eye a little roundish for my taste but they are a lovely colour. Disappointingly he was quite short stepping as eh went around the ring.

PGD
(7) 1 CC & BOB O'Loughlin's Caoilta Wicca what a handsome youngster this is & surely he has great potential. Prettiest of heads and expressions, such dark, really oval shaped eyes, neat ears, good flat skull and sufficient weight in foreface. Well ribbed, level in back and high set tail. Not the greatest showman in the world, but when he is at attention he looks stunning. Excels in side action, especially forward reach which edged him the BOB card. Believe his first CC and his others should be attained quite readily. 2 Pooley's Wyndlee Short n Sweet at Azkaban middle sized b/w of much charm. Quite full of himself as he bustled his way around the ring with real purpose. Certainly big ribbed, short backed, excellent tail set and carriage and he was in full coat. His head has a decent width in skull, the ears are neat and his eyes almost oval and certainly give him an expression to admire. 3 Clayton's Rossfort Gerhardt scores in head pattern, really flat skull, strong muzzle lovely eyes for size, shape and colour. Whilst well ribbed, he needs to be shorter coupled to get the proportions right and he must be close to the top of the measure in size. Certainly very sound moving.

LD (6) 1 Smith's Sandkarahs Mister Mischief what a super size and shape this beautifully headed black is. His skull is flattish, the muzzle well filled and his ears are neat. Short backed, he showed his socks off and although he moves away somewhat too close behind, his profile action was light stepping and purposeful. Shown in excellent coat. 2 Winser's Nixtev Notorious of Lysebourne another smart little black with so much to like. Well balanced head, skull flat enough, clean in cheek and excellent eye colour. He has a good ribcage, tail bang on top and he is comparatively sound. For me he is that tad short in leg for his rib depth which cost him the red card. 3 Chambers' Uncas Von Zweregen Konig (Imp) one of my problems of the day as there is so much to like about this brown. He is a lovely size, robust in body, beautiful coat texture and such a rich hue in colour. Head handles well and he is so sound. Loved his size and he never put a foot wrong. It is hard to get the right eye colour in browns in most breeds, but I just found his eye more round than oval and the colour too light which spoiled his expression & therefore his appeal.

OD
(10,1) All shapes and types in this mixed class. 1 Corkin's Nixtev Kinetic Under Fouranfass lots to like. Lovely size, well proportioned head which is a real wedge shape, neat errs, little neck, well ribbed, short in back, high tail set and good feet. Presented in lovely bloom, he moved up and down then went around so soundly and with a light stride. In the challenge I just preferred the softer eye and expression of those I put above him. 2 Rogerson's Nosregor Kateandy Moogi-Dhoo beautifully coloured and coated dark brown which was impeccable in presentation. Nice flat skull, good coloured eyes, sufficient spring of rib, well set tail and a pleasing expression. I just gave the winner the edge in profile action where he was smoother and more even striding. These two could change places anytime. 3 Hewett's Ch. Spellcast Secrets and Lies JW this is a beautifully headed black with a lovely eye and expression. Size bigger than those above him but still well within the standard. Not quite as compact as them but he was superbly coated and presented. For some reason he kept leaning to one side which made his action almost side- wind and more difficult to assess.

GCDSD (2) 1 Drechsler's Wyndlee Blown in the Wind at Jeansway nice type, certainly all male in outlook, short backed, in lovely bloom and well presented. Nice head pattern with especially good eyes, Bit stuffy on the move but basically sound. 2 Blight's Rosechow Ehrik b/t nice for size, good flat skull, eyes a bit round and full and he is carrying a little too much weight. But what a natural showman, full of self belief and confidence.

VB (2,1) 1 Pooley's Wyndlee Fallen Angel from Azkaban 10 years old and still keen as mustard to strut her stuff and show off. Nice head, eye now a shade full but still alert and enquiring. She is so well bodied if a little over padded now, but it did not stop her showing a good turn of foot and to be on the alert in case some tasty morsel slipped from her handler's grip!

SPB
(5,1) 1 Orr's Rossfort Andante with Sobriety well coated cream which has lots of promise. She is well constructed, a lovely size, well balanced head with a good muzzle and such pretty eyes which are a good shape and colour. In excellent coat she moved out quite soundly and has a hint of style. 2 Garbutt's Nixtev Passion very heavily coated cream but carrying too much weight which is reflected in her action. The type is lovely, hence her placing but she could look so much better with weight loss. She has a very good skull and muzzle, dark medium sized eyes & is OK for size. 3 Richardson's Wyndlee Lawdy Miss Clady at Jomihvar almost a square in outline this lovely red bitch never lets up showing. Very feminine all through but I would like that shade heavier bone mass and a tad more weight in foreface.

SJB (2) 1 Hamer's Liubice Vivacious of Clarmer this white scores in eye, super eyes and ears help her cause. She stands and moves a shade overbuilt behind. In terrific coat, her pigmentation is excellent but she must learn to settle when moving. 2 King's Druitz Cariad Bach of Grizwold the colour of a red fox, absolutely square, but light in bone even for her sex, needs more foreface and being between coats did not help her cause. She is very true fore and aft and is a most responsive showgirl.

PGB (4,2) 1 Hunter's Rossfort Wendika shaded sable, lovely type, good length/height proportions, very good wedge shaped head, eyes larger than I like but they are a good colour. Carrying a little too much weight and she was a bit of a fidget at first on the move but settled to show an even stride. 2 Beard's Flamuna Oasis this light gold was rushed into the ring at the last minute and never settled to move more than a dozen steps without jumping or leaping about. Good skull and muzzle, nice proportions and tail set, in excellent coat and on the stack has appeal.

LB
(10,1) 1 & Res CC O'Loughlin's Caoilta Kitkat what a charmer this delightful brown bitch is. Has style, shape, is sound as a bell and tries her heart out. I loved her head, sufficient skull width, nice stop, well filled foreface and really lovely eyes. In such good coat, not a hair out of place and she is such a positive little person on the move. Surely a titleholder in the making. I see she is out of the same dam as the BOB winner. 2 Thurston's Caoilta for Luibice this one takes the eye straight away as she has glamour, being a clear cream in colour, black pigmentation , beautiful head and expression and stunningly presented. Her proportions are just about spot on and I was seriously considering her until she moved where she simply lacked the smooth and positive step of Kitkat which swung the red card her way. This one is litter sister to the BOB. 3 Mountain's Daraydala Pink Fizz at Hocombwood charming chocolate brown with white spats. Lovely for size, certainly compact with a well sprung ribcage, tail bang on top & in excellent coat. Skull a little rounder than I like and she was another who played up on the move.

OB
(11,3) 1 & CC Chambers' Ch Nosregor Bewitched for Musique this brown package just shrieks sheer type. Lovely size and bone, such a well rounded ribcage, short loin, well muscled hindquarters and tail set bang on top. Her head is as it should be, broad in skull which is fairly flat, clean in cheek, the neatest of ears and amply filled muzzle. In pristine coat which was groomed to perfection. The ultimate as a showing machine and I don't recall her ears ever being less that erect. I believe winning her 27th CC and it is easy to see why. Class tells. 2 Purves' Ch Rossfort Griselda, this cream is a very worthy Champion. Sadly very out of coat which told against her. So pretty in expression with a very well balanced wedge shaped head & with wonderful pigmentation. She is a good height, is well bodied, could be a tad shorter in loin but this was exaggerated by her lack of furnishings. Ultra sound on the move. 3 Rolleston's Kelam Pillow Talk I really admired so much about this lovely cream bitch. She has obvious class and type and moved out well. However, she is carrying far too much weight and this went against her. Slimmed down she could be a threat to many.

GCDS B (3) 1 W. Fallen Angel from A. 2 W. Lawdy Miss Clawdy at J. 3 King's Grizwold Inabikari, sable, dead out of coat and lacks weight in muzzle. Lovely eye shape, size and colour, almost square in proportions, could have heavier bone but she is a real livewire and shows non stop.
